Gelli Plate printing with Acrylics

This work brings together six gelli plate monotypes made with plants collected from nature. Each print captures the shape, texture, and individuality of the plant used, while the different pastel and vivid colours allow each impression to develop its own character. By arranging the prints together as a collage, the separate images become part of a larger composition while still keeping their uniqueness. The monotype process is important to the work because it leaves room for chance and surprise, the final image can never be fully predicted, reflecting the idea that sometimes it is better not to expect a specific outcome, but to allow something unexpected and interesting to take shape.
