Digital collage incorporating original photography and scanned monotype

In this work, the bright purple flowers remain visible through parts of the transparent monotype, even as the blue and green forms begin to cover the image. The photograph and the monotype seem to compete for space, creating a tension between the memory and the anxious thoughts that try to overtake it. Some parts of the memory remain strong enough to come through, suggesting a moment where neither anxiety nor the memory has fully taken control.
